Synopsis
A warrior, who killed numerous soldiers during the Japanese Invasion of Korea in 1592, is praised as a hero by his soldiers and feared by his enemies, but also suffers nightmares every night after the war, in which the dead become water ghosts. 10 years later, he wanders the country, without any official role, trying to help however he can in the devastated villages.
People call him the ‘Man with No Name’. The goodness and kindness of the villagers pierces the heart of this stranger, little by little, and he longs only for a restful night’s sleep and to be a real part of village life.
But the peace of which he dreams is not so easily acquired. Japanese ambassadors to Korea have been killing children and removing their ears. Collecting the ears and noses of their Korean victims was common among the Japanese soldiers during the war. With the villagers consumed with terror once more, and the government powerless to do anything, the Unknown Hero tries to catch those responsible, but while doing so is struck down by a Japanese Ninja’s sword.
The nameless hero barely survives the near-fatal injury, and sinks into despair. But the people cry that the souls of the children who lost their ears cannot rest and are damned to wander the city. Even if it will cost him his life, he must reclaim the children′s ears.
Now, this unnamed warrior begins a personal war against the best samurai and ninjas of the era.
