APM 2023, online submission for new feature-length fiction projects by Asian directors open until May 31 (Wed)
(KST)!
APM, which began as Pusan Promotion Plan
(PPP) in 1998 and is meeting its 26th year, is the first investment and
co-production market in Asia. APM selects new projects each year, from low-budget
independent films to high-budget commercial films, and provides co-production
business opportunities for investors, producers, and distributors. APM 2022 selected 29 projects from 14
regions and conducted a total of 705 official meetings between 170 participants
from 132 companies. Furthermore, five new award categories were introduced in
2022 from its previous edition, presenting cash and in-kind awards of
approximately 150,000 USD to the 13 winners in 12 categories.
APM has selected a total of 661 projects
over the past 25 years, of which approximately 280 films have been completed
and gone on to receive much acclaim in prestigious film festivals around the
world. Director Kanu Behl’s Agra (APM 2015
project) will have its world premiere at this year’s Cannes Film Festival
Director’s Fortnight. From official selections of APM 2020, director Fukada
Koji’s Love Life and director Ahmed Yassin Al Daradji’s Hanging Gardens, and
director Wissam Charaf’s Dirty, Difficult, Dangerous, an official APM 2017
project, were invited to the 2022 Venice International Film Festival together,
receiving a warm response from the media and critics. In addition, director
Chan Ching Lin’s Coo-Coo 043, which was selected for the APM 2019, won big at
the 2022 Golden Horse Film Awards, achieving triple crown with the Best Film,
Best New Performer, and the FIPRESCI Prize.
APM is now accepting submissions for this
year's edition to discover new fiction film projects. Submissions will be open
online until May 31 (Wed), KST. Official selections of the APM will be
