Synopsis
Angie (64) and Pat (63) are a lesbian couple who have been together for over four decades. The couple are open with their respective families and often invite Pat’s family to their home for dinner. Angie’s relationship with Pat’s family has been very close.
One day, out of the blue, Pat passes away in her sleep. Angie is left on her own to deal with matters related to Pat and Pat′s family. Although initially very sympathetic and supportive of Angie, it is not too long before conflict develops with the family over their opinions about the burial arrangements.
Later, the family inform Angie that Pat did not leave a Will, and all of Pat’s belongings will pass to her next-of-kin, who in this case will be Pat’s brother. Angie tries to convince Pat’s family to let her stay in the apartment, but each family member has his or her own agenda regarding the property. In the end, Angie is faced with either fighting for what she believes is rightfully hers or giving up the home that she and Pat had built and lived in for decades.
